Fundamental Tips Before hiring a Ceramic Tile Installer and how that applies to ACE Tile Marble

Tip 1: Look for high quality tile supplier. Ask you contractor about tile prices and quality. Ask also how much would cost the project with tile included and without.

Tip 2: Consider about what kind of designs you wish on the floor or surface you're tiling. Draft it on a piece of paper. After you choose the shape and color of your tile, choose the color of the grout. If possible, ask your tile installer for suggestions.

: We will make sure you have that. We will give suggestions of patterns and designs.

Tip 3: Ask friends and relatives for recommendations of tile installers, or look on Craigslist or Google for "ceramic tile" city where you are located.

Tip 4: Have several installers come to your home to evaluate the square footage of the project and give estimates.

: We will take precise measurements of your project. We will take pictures of the project. We will discuss designs, shapes, colors, patterns and much more. Then we will email (or fax if you prefer) you a PDF proposal along with a list of references. We will follow up with one single call. We don't have sales people in our company. You talk directly to us.

Tip 5: Be certain that the right material you require is specified in the offers, whether you use a supplier the contractor recommends or you'll be furnishing the tiles yourself. Don't forget to have in the offers who will provide: complete clean-up (including haul away all debris), floor preparation (remove or not remove existing floor), grout application. Also, who will furnish, thin-set, mortar-mix, spacers. Ideally, you choose the tile and the tile installer furnishes everything else. The tile setter should even pick up the tile at the tile supplier for you. You should have complete piece of mind.

Tip 6: Ask about the prices of having your existing floor removed before the installation begins. (You may decide to do this yourself, pay the installer extra to complete this work, or hire someone totally different for the remotion.)

: We prefer to prep the floor and walls ourselves. We want to make sure the surfaces will be perfect for the tile that will be installed.

Tip 7: Inquire the installer for pictures of past jobs. Nowadays, more important than pictures are videos. Do they have video showing how talented they are? This Tip is especially important for designs involving elaborate designs or costly materials.

Tip 8: Inquire the contractors for at least 8 references from past customers (completed within 9 months). Contact the references and ask if they're happy with the work. Ask very specific questions about the past project. Want a solid tile installer? Ask solid and detailed questions to the references. For example: what design did you choose? What shape of tile did you choose? How long did it take to finish the project? Was the tile setter clean? What about cost? How much did you have to commit to get the project started?

: We will email a list of at least 20 references. The list will include: project description, reference phone, reference email and much more.

Tip 9: Select the tile installer with the best combination of price and satisfied customers. Make sure you see your tile setter in action. If, in their website, they only present photos scanned from home decor magazines, run from them. They are possible a fake. Demand tons of real testimonials. Tip 10: Perform a proposal that distinctly determines the material to be used, begin date, completion date, price and payment schedule. Certify that you have in writing that there will be no cost variation during project execution. Clean-up is essential. Have that in writing too. Complete clean-up and haul away of debris from site job should be in the contract. Try to minimize up-front deposits, and keep the payment schedule as closely aligned as possible to the progress of the work and the delivery of materials to the site. If the material is to be laid in a pattern, make sure that a sketch is attached to the contract.
